After you submit your online application, you’ll be invited to schedule an in-person Family Chat and Student Interview — a one-on-one session with our Director of Admissions. This personalized visit to our New Jersey high school campus includes a tailored tour based on your student’s interests, as well as the opportunity to have your questions answered in depth. We can’t wait to get to know you!
Through Ravenna, you will be able to start the application process, register for Open House and Virtual Info Session, email teacher recommendation forms directly to your students’ teachers, submit all admissions materials, check the status of your application, and receive admissions decisions.
When/if appropriate, both parents should use two (2) unique email addresses on the application in Ravenna, one for each parent/guardian.
Discover Franklin by joining us for an Open House or a Virtual Chat with our Head of School and Director of Admissions. To learn more about Franklin contact our Admissions Team: admissions@franklinjc.org or call 201-731-4817.
Every Franklin School applicant must schedule a Family Chat and Student Interview with our Director of Admissions. This event is about an hour long and prospective families can ask questions and tour the school. All interviews will be conducted at Franklin School unless noted otherwise and appointments can be reserved directly in Ravenna after the application is submitted.
Applicants must submit two teacher recommendation forms via Ravenna.
Submit one Teacher Recommendation form to the applicant's current core subject teacher (English, Math, Science)
Submit one Teacher Recommendation form to a teacher of the applicant’s choice (this recommendation can be from an adult who taught the applicant in any extracurricular activity)
For the Early Decision option, we will accept recommendations from teachers from the previous year.
We are test-optional for the 2026-27 academic year, however, applicants are welcome to submit their ISEE or SSAT scores.
Applying for Financial Aid
Franklin is committed to supporting students who wish to have an independent school education regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. Financial aid will be granted on a need basis. F-1 Student Visas
While Franklin School in Jersey City is proud to be an international community, we are a day school and do not provide boarding or allow homestays for international students. All international students must be living with immediate family members while attending Franklin. All family guardians undergo an interview and screening process. Franklin is an SEVP-certified school. If your child requires a Form I-20, they must be enrolled and the tuition deposit must be paid before a Form I-20 is issued.

The admissions process was excellent, I felt so comfortable in the interview with Ms. Stravoiu and Mr. Campbell. I felt like my true identity, my true self could really come out. I got the impression that at Franklin I would be supported and it would be a place where I could feel at home for the next four years.
