Location: Franklin School, 100 Town Square Place, Jersey City (masks required)
This event is open to all — no registration required!
Try Your Hand at One — or All — of Our Design Challenges:
Create your own car to race down our derby track. Experience the design cycle as you build, test, and improve your own custom vehicle. Can you beat our speed record?
Test your folding and launching skills. Have fun launching paper airplanes with our motorized paper airplane launchers. How far will yours fly?
With simple craft materials, you will design a rocket to launch. You’ll be amazed to watch your rocket travel hundreds of feet in the air. Are you ready to start designing?
Using motors and building materials, you’ll be challenged to engineer a machine that can defy gravity. Can you build a robot that can travel up a zipline?
At the Expo, our expert educators will demonstrate the creative power of some of the tools, machines, and materials in Franklin’s state-of-the-art makerspace — where students can design and make anything they want — and the skills they will learn.
You’ll also have the opportunity to experiment with some of the digital fabrication tools, including laser cutters, digital sewing machines, and 3D printers. What will you make? What do you want to invent?
We look forward to welcoming you and your families to our Design Expo, where you’ll also have the opportunity to meet our Head of School, Admissions Director, Director of Innovation, and Franklin faculty. Don’t miss it!
