Franklin Student Ventures: Young Innovators' Competition

We’ve been so excited to launch our School’s incubator, Franklin Student Ventures, we decided to create our first Young Innovators’ Competition even before we open next fall! Students in grades 6-11 from the Jersey City and New York City areas were invited to imagine, design, and present an idea to solve a community challenge, offering a taste of the incubator experience that all Franklin students will have.

After identifying a community challenge, competition participants were encouraged to think of an idea for a company or non-profit designed to help solve that problem and submit a brief video pitching their ideas.

All the videos are in — and we have great news! Our finalists will present their ideas to a panel of innovators and entrepreneurs for consideration. The winners may be awarded:

  • Cash grants up to $1,000 to kickstart your idea
  • $2,500 Young Innovator Scholarship for Franklin students entering grade 9
  • $5,000 Innovation Scholarship for Franklin students entering grades 10 or 11
  • Mentorships with local entrepreneurs

We invite you to join us for this special virtual event on Thursday, April 21, from 5-6 pm. Tune in to see our finalists pitch their ideas to our panel of judges!
