Design of Speed: Formula 1 in Italy

Students are invited to participate in an extraordinary STEM and design program in the renowned Motor Valley in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, home to Formula 1 innovation and some of the world's most iconic high-performance automotive brands. This immersive experience will explore the intersection of engineering, design, technology, and motorsports through exclusive visits, hands-on workshops, and behind-the-scenes access to legendary manufacturers, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Pagani, and Alfa Romeo.
Highlights include an immersive experience at the Ferrari Museum, featuring the factory shuttle, track tour, innovation campus, and pit stop challenge, as well as a behind-the-scenes visit to the legendary Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Imola Circuit). Students will also participate in a hands-on engineering workshop at the Dallara Academy, exploring aerodynamics, materials science, vehicle dynamics, and race car design, and put their driving skills to the test during a Mini Grand Prix go-karting challenge. Beyond motorsports, the program showcases the rich culinary heritage of Emilia-Romagna through authentic pasta- and gelato-making workshops, a guided tour and tasting at a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese producer, and a visit to a traditional Acetaia to discover the centuries-old craft of producing balsamic vinegar.
Combining innovation, culture, and experiential learning, this program offers a unique opportunity for students interested in engineering, design, physics, technology, and motorsports while immersing them in the history of Bologna and the world-renowned culinary traditions that make Italy's Motor Valley the heart of the Emilia-Romagna region.
